ALMATY (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 24th March, 2019) US President Donald Trump has expressed confidence in his message to new Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev that the two countries will have the same fruitful relations as under the first Kazakh president, Nursultan Nazarbayev, the press service of the Kazakh leader said on Sunday.
Tokayev, who served as the chairman of the upper house of the Kazakh parliament, took the oath of office on Wednesday after the unexpected resignation of Nursultan Nazarbayev, who has been leading the country since 1990.
"President of the United States of America Donald Trump, highly praising his joint work with the first president of Kazakhstan � ... Nursultan Nazarbayev � noted that he was expecting the same kind of fruitful relations with Kassym-Jomart Tokayev," the press service said in a statement.
Trump also congratulated Tokayev on assuming his post and wished prosperity to the acting president, his family and the whole of Kazakhstan.
