A three-member bench accepts the application for hearing. Punjab Advocate General records protest over the verdict
LAHORE- (Pakistan Point News- 22nd March 2019) A full bench of the Lahore High Court has barred Model Town JIT from working, accepting the application against its formation for hearing.
A three-member bench head by Justice Qasim Khan announced the verdict on an application filed against the formation of joint investigation team on Model Town incident.
The JIT couple of days ago recorded the statement of former prime minister Mian Nawaz Sharif in Kot Lakhpat Jail.
Punjab Advocate General presented before the court and lodged a protest on the announcement of the verdict without hearing the opinion of the Punjab government. The government lawyers said it was the first time in the history of the court that a decision was announced without hearing the government point of view.
