JAKARTA, (Pakistan Point News - 19th Mar, 2019) The death toll from flash floods and landslides that hit Papua province in eastern Indonesia over the weekend has risen to 92, with nearly 160 others injured, the Deutsche Presse-Agentur, DPA, quoted the local military as saying, Tuesday.

"Almost 75 people were still listed as missing after the floods that wreaked havoc on homes in the provincial capital Jayapura," said Muhammad Aidi, Spokesman for the Papuan Military Garrison.

"The number of displaced people has reached 8,507 and they were being sheltered in several locations," he said.

"One district in the mountain is still inaccessible by aid workers because a bridge connecting the area was destroyed, but there are no reports of fatalities there," he said, adding that a navy ship was being sent to the location.
