The 40 second video clip released by the DG ISPR on his official twitter handle depicts the love of people from different walks of life and regions for the motherland. The DG ISPR tweeted that the armed forces acknowledge the love and support of fans who wanted to wear military style caps and shirts during Pakistan Premier League's final."Sports are beyond politics and we believe that our bondage is beyond such gestures alone. Enjoy the game in the city of lights," he said.Pakistani fans had requested to wear military caps at the final after the Indian cricket team wore army caps during the third ODI against Australia.
Last week, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi had said the International Cricket Council (ICC) should take notice of the Indian team for wearing military caps during a cricket match.Over this instance of Indian team, an American news website, Huffington Post reported, "No team in the history of modern cricket has worn military camouflage caps or symbols during an international match to make a statement."On Wednesday, the ISPR had announced that Pakistan Day will be celebrated with great fervor on March 23 and Malaysian Prime Minister Dr Mahathir bin Mohamad will be the guest of honor.
ISPR Director General Major General Asif Ghafoor said Pakistan Day Parade slogan will be Pakistan Zindabad' (Long Live Pakistan). It has further been told that F16 fighter jets of Turkey and China's J10 aircrafts will display aerial acrobats on the occasion.Commander of the National Guard of the Kingdom of Bahrain Lieutenant General Sheikh Mohamed Bin Isa Bin Salman Al Khalifa, Minister of Defence of Azerbaijan Colonel General Zakir Hasanov and officials from Sultanate of Oman will grace the ceremony with their presence.
