WASHINGTON (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 13th March, 2019) Former Trump campaign manager Paul Manfort has been charged with residential mortgage fraud in New York, the District Attorney's Office in New York County said in a press release on Wednesday.
"Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus R. Vance, Jr. today announced the indictment of Paul Manafort, 69, for a yearlong residential mortgage fraud scheme through which Manafort and others falsified business records to illegally obtain millions of Dollars," the release said.
Earlier on Wednesday, a US Federal judge in Washington, DC sentenced Manafort to three and a half years in prison for two counts of conspiracy. Earlier in March, Manafort was sentenced to almost four years in jail in the US state of Virginia over bank and tax fraud.
