ICC allowed Indian Cricket Team to wear army caps

PCB chairman Eshan Mani said the Indian Cricket Board took the permission from ICC for some other purpose and used it to do something else.

LAHORE- (Pakistan Point News- 11th March 2019) International Cricket Council has said that it allowed Indian cricket team to wear army caps in the third ODI match against Australia.

Indian media made this claim while quoting the official statement of the ICC. The media quoted the statement of ICC manager communication Claire Furlong who said Indian Cricket board had sought the permission from ICC to wear the caps as part of a fundraising drive in memory of the fallen soldiers who were died. The ICC, he said, granted the permission.

Pakistan Foreign Office and Information Ministry have raised serious objections over the Indian Cricket Board move. The act was declared a step to politicize the gentlemen’s game.

Information Minister Fawad Ch, in a tweet, has asked the PCB to raise the issue with the ICC.
