The plane was eventually forced to return to the airport after the woman realised that she had forgotten her baby.
The incident happened in a Kuala Lampur-bound Jeddah flight SV832 where the Saudi mother told cabin crew that she had forgotten her baby in the boarding area at the terminal of the King Abdul Aziz International Airport.
The pilot then sought permission to go back to the airport. The ATC operators were also surprised at the incident as they looked for the protocol to deal with the situation.
The video of the incident has gone viral on social media.
In the video, the pilots are seen asking in Arabic about the protocol for such an issue.
However, the pilot managed to return the flight to take the mother to her child.
