Russian-UNESCO Ties Continue to Develop, Moscow to Further Support Organization - Putin

The relations between Russia and UNESCO are steadily developing and Moscow is going to further support the organization, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at the meeting with UNESCO Director-General Audrey Azoulay

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 06th March, 2019) The relations between Russia and UNESCO are steadily developing and Moscow is going to further support the organization, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at the meeting with UNESCO Director-General Audrey Azoulay.

"I am pleased to note that the relations between Russia and UNESCO are steadily developing. [We] believe that UNESCO was, is and will remain the key international intergovernmental organization working on [development of] humanitarian ties," Putin said.

The president pointed out that Russia would continue to support UNESCO in the future.

"You can always count on us and at the same time we count on your support, including methodological one needed for implementation of our national plans," Putin added.

Azoulay thanked Russia for playing the key role in the activities of UNESCO.

UNESCO was founded in 1946 and is aimed at promotion of international educational, scientific and cultural cooperation.
