MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 03rd March, 2019) The Russian side of the Russian-Turkish commission monitoring the implementation of the Syrian ceasefire recorded seven truce breaches in the country over the past 24 hours, while the Turkish side registered 14 ceasefire violations, the Russian Defense Ministry's Center for Reconciliation of Opposing Sides in Syria said on Sunday.
"Over the last 24 hours, the Russian party of the Russia-Turkey Commission on violations of the Joint Agreement has registered 7 cases of firing in the provinces of Idlib (3) and Latakia (4). The Turkish side has registered 14 cases of ceasefire violations in the provinces of Idlib (5), Latakia (3), Aleppo (1) and Hama (5)," the center said in its daily bulletin.
The Reconciliation Center carried out one humanitarian operation over the period, handing out 500 food sets in the eastern Syrian province of Deir ez-Zor.
The Russian military carries out regular humanitarian operations across Syria and assists the Syrian government with the repatriation of tens of thousands of refugees. When the civil war in the country was still in its most active phase, Russia was also assisting Damascus in the settlement of the armed conflict through military support for the Syrian government forces.
