MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 01st March, 2019) During his visits to Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Kuwait, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will discuss the situation in Syria's Idlib and Syrian settlement efforts made as part of the Astana process, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement Friday.The tour of the regional countries will be held March 3-7.
"Regarding Syria, we intend to inform our Arabian partners about the situation in Idlib, in Syria's northeast, the efforts being made within the framework of the Astana format to eliminate remaining terrorist groups in Syrian territory, as well as to form and launch the work of the constitutional committee," the ministry said.
"We will also consider such important topics as Syria's return to the Arab League, efforts to improve Damascus' relations with other Arab capitals," it said.
