US-led forces have killed at least 1,257 civilians while battling the Islamic State terrorist group (banned in Russia) in Syria and Iraq over the last four and a half years, Operation Inherent Resolve (OIR) said in its monthly casualty assessment on Thursday

WASHINGTON (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 28th February, 2019) US-led forces have killed at least 1,257 civilians while battling the Islamic State terrorist group (banned in Russia) in Syria and Iraq over the last four and a half years, Operation Inherent Resolve (OIR) said in its monthly casualty assessment on Thursday.

"The Coalition conducted a total of 33,921 strikes between August 2014 and end of January 2019. During this period, based on information available, CJTF-OIR assesses at least 1257 civilians have been unintentionally killed by Coalition strikes since the beginning of Operation Inherent Resolve," Combined Joint Task Force - Operation Inherent Resolve (CJTF-OIR) said in a press release.
