North Korean State-Run Media Report About Wednesday's Pleasant Chat Between Kim, Trump

TOKYO (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 28th February, 2019) North Korea's state-run KCNA news agency gave a positive assessment of Wednesday's meeting between the country's leader, Kim Jong Un, and US President Donald Trump, saying that they held a pleasant one-on-one conversation and a dinner.

The outlet, which conveys the North Korean leadership's official position, reported that the second two-day summit between Trump and Kim was possible due the efforts of the two leaders, seeking to bring an end to confrontation and enmity.

While the outlet uses the words "pleasant chat" five times, excluding the headline, it does not mention denuclearization, the main topic of the summit, which will continue later on Thursday.

Moreover, the agency quoted Kim as saying that "wonderful results, which will bring joy to everyone, will be achieved during the current talks." Kim also expressed readiness to make everything possible for this.

Trump and Kim met for the first time last June. During the summit, Kim expressed commitment to denuclearize the Korean Peninsula while Trump said Washington was ready to give security guarantees to Pyongyang.
