DC Attorney General Subpoenas Trump Inaugural Committee For Payment Records - Reports

WASHINGTON (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 28th February, 2019) The District of Columbia Attorney General issued subpoenas for documents from US President Donald Trump's inaugural committee, media reported.

The subpoena is seeking records of payments to committee officials and their businesses in addition to conflict of interest policies, the New York Times said on Wednesday.

The DC attorney general is also requesting documents identifying what role Ivanka Trump, Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump played on the committee, the report said. The newspaper noted that none of Trump's children had any official role in running the inaugural committee fund.

The latest subpoena follows similar ones issued by Federal prosecutors in Manhattan and New Jersey who are looking into how the committee spent approximately $107 million in donor funding and whether payments were made in exchange for favors from the Trump administration.
