MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 24th February, 2019) The Russian side of the Russian-Turkish commission monitoring the implementation of the Syrian ceasefire recorded six truce breaches in the country over the past 24 hours, while the Turkish side registered 12 ceasefire violations, the Russian Defense Ministry's Center for Reconciliation of Opposing Sides in Syria said on Sunday.

"Over the past 24 hours, the Russian party of the Russia-Turkey Commission on violations of the Joint Agreement registered 6 cases of firing in the provinces of Latakia (5), Hama (1). The Turkish side registered 12 cases of ceasefire violations in the provinces of Idlib (6), Aleppo (2), Latakia (3), Hama (1)," the center said in its daily bulletin.

The Russian military did not hold any humanitarian actions over the given period.

The number of areas that signed reconciliation agreements remained unchanged and stands at 2,518. The number of armed formations claiming that they observe the ceasefire has not changed either and amounts to 234.

The Russian military carries out regular humanitarian operations across Syria and assists the Syrian government with the repatriation of tens of thousands of refugees. When the civil war in the country was still in its most active phase, Russia was also assisting Damascus in the settlement of the armed conflict through military support for the Syrian government forces.
