MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 23rd February, 2019) The Russian side of the Russian-Turkish commission monitoring the implementation of the Syrian ceasefire recorded nine truce breaches in the country over the past 24 hours, while the Turkish side registered 28 ceasefire violations, the Russian Defense Ministry's Center for Reconciliation of Opposing Sides in Syria said on Saturday.
"Over the past 24 hours, the Russian party of the Russia-Turkey Commission on violations of the Joint Agreement registered 9 cases of firing in the provinces of Latakia (6), Aleppo (2) and Idlib (1). The Turkish side registered 28 cases of ceasefire violations in the provinces of Aleppo (6), Hama (3), Idlib (17) and Latakia (2)," the center said in its daily bulletin.
The Reconciliation Center did not hold any humanitarian actions over the given period.
The Russian military carries out regular humanitarian operations across Syria and assists with the repatriation of tens of thousands of refugees. When the civil war in the country was still in its most active phase, Russia was also assisting Damascus in the settlement of the armed conflict through military support for the Syrian government forces.
