MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 19th February, 2019) The US goal is to split Syria and create a quasi-state on the eastern bank of the Euphrates, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said Tuesday.
"In other words, the task of restoring the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Syria, signed by the entire international community, including the United States, was for the US in fact only a move to distract attention. Its goal - now it is becoming increasingly obvious - is to split Syria and create a quasi-state on the east bank," Lavrov said at a press conference after a meeting with OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, Slovak Foreign Minister Miroslav Lajcak.
