Russia, Oman Agree to Boost Mutual Investment, Energy, Trade Cooperation - Lavrov

Russia and Oman will step up cooperation in trade, energy, and agriculture and invest more in each other's economies, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said Monday

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 18th February, 2019) Russia and Oman will step up cooperation in trade, energy, and agriculture and invest more in each other's economies, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said Monday.

"We welcomed positive developments in bilateral trade. Its volume has increased by 60 percent compared to last year. But in absolute figures there's more to be done. We agreed to move further in the direction of investments, energy, information technology, metal mining industry and agriculture," the Russian foreign minister said.

Lavrov welcomed Oman's Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs Yusuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah in Moscow earlier in the day.

The Russian top diplomat said they had "good talks" on a wide range of bilateral matters and agreed to raise them gradually to a new level.
