MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 14th February, 2019) Washington is attempting to make Kabul dependent on US weaponry to gain a foothold in Afghanistan for many years, Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev said."We have heard a lot of statements by US officials regarding the withdrawal of the NATO military contingent [from Afghanistan]. But in reality, they are not being implemented," Patrushev said in an interview with Russia's Komsomolskaya Pravda newspaper.
"We are witnessing attempts by the United States to create a system of Afghanistan's direct dependency on US weapons and military equipment in order to establish a firm foothold in the country for many years," Patrushev stressed.
