SOCHI (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 14th February, 2019) Active and consistent work and a search for compromises on the situation in Syria will bring success in the Syrian settlement, Russian President Vladimir Putin said Thursday at a meeting with his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan, adding that the guarantors of the Astana process would give a new impetus to organizing intra-Syrian dialogue.
"Today we are to host the fourth summit of countries guarantors of the Astana process in Sochi. I am convinced that we will be able to give a new impetus to the normalization of the situation in the Syrian Arab Republic, both on the ground and as part of political and diplomatic efforts to organize an intra-Syrian dialogue," Putin said.
"Huge work has been carried out, and the difficult work continues. Not all the tasks have been solved yet. But if we work just as actively, just as consistently and seek compromises, then we will certainly have success," he said.
