MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 11th February, 2019) The Israel-Palestinian settlement should be a multilateral process, Zahira Kamal, the secretary-general of the Palestinian Democratic Union party, told Sputnik on Monday."We said that what is the main issue for our future is [to] have an international conference, 5+1, and then it can be expanded later on. Now we are not accepting that the United States will be the only country that deals with the Israel-Palestinian issue and negotiations. But there are other countries to be involved," Kamal said.
She pointed out that if the process was not multilateral, then it would be taking into account the interests of Israel, while ignoring those of Palestine.
"If only the United States deals with the problem, and it is under the umbrella of the United States, that means that they are with Israel and everything will be in accordance with the Israeli will, and the Palestinian wills and aspirations are not taken into consideration," Kamal said.
She stressed that an international conference, on the other hand, would be neutral.
The third intra-Palestinian meeting in Moscow opened earlier in the day and will last through Wednesday.
