Russia Recorded 6 Ceasefire Violations in Syria Over Past 24 Hours - Defense Ministry

The Russian side of the Russian-Turkish commission monitoring the implementation of the Syrian ceasefire has recorded six truce breaches over the past 24 hours, while the Turkish side has registered nine violations, according to figures provided on Friday by the Russian military

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 08th February, 2019) The Russian side of the Russian-Turkish commission monitoring the implementation of the Syrian ceasefire has recorded six truce breaches over the past 24 hours, while the Turkish side has registered nine violations, according to figures provided on Friday by the Russian military.

"Over the last 24 hours, the Russian party of the Russia-Turkey Commission on violations of the Joint Agreement has registered 6 cases of firing in the provinces of Aleppo (2), Idlib (1) and Latakia (3). The Turkish side has registered 9 cases of ceasefire violations in the provinces of� Idlib (5), Latakia (3), and Hama (1)," the Russian Defense Ministry said in a daily bulletin.

According to the bulletin, the number of armed groups, which have claimed to observe the ceasefire regime in Syria, is 234.

Russia, Turkey and Iran are the guarantors of the ceasefire regime in Syria, while Moscow has also been supporting the government forces' fight against terrorist groups and providing humanitarian aid to civilians.
