US May Try to Keep UN Sanctions Against Taliban to Use Them for Bargaining - Kabulov

The United States may try to keep UN sanctions against the Taliban movement in force in order to use them as an element of bargaining, Russian Foreign Ministry Second Asian Department Director Zamir Kabulov, who is the Russian president's special envoy on Afghanistan, told Sputnik.

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 07th February, 2019) The United States may try to keep UN sanctions against the Taliban movement in force in order to use them as an element of bargaining, Russian Foreign Ministry Second Asian Department Director Zamir Kabulov, who is the Russian president's special envoy on Afghanistan, told Sputnik.

"Perhaps the Americans [will use] this factor as an element of bargaining with the Taliban, let them [the United States and the Taliban] agree, we do not want to interfere," Kabulov said.
