Fawad Chaudhry is not happy with PTV’s performance

Fawad Chaudhry has reportedly written a letter to PTV Managing Director Arshad Khan showing disapproval of the performance of the national television.

Islamabad (Pakistan Point News – 7th February, 2019) Federal Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry has expressed his displeasure over the poor performance of Pakistan Television (PTV).

Fawad Chaudhry has reportedly written a letter to ptv Managing Director Arshad Khan showing disapproval of the performance of the national television.

According to a copy of the letter obtained by a local newspaper, Fawad Chaudhry said that the liabilities of PTV have been growing and it seems the management has no strategy to minimise the losses.

“Despite repeated instructions, the PTV management has not been able to come up with a business plan,” the letter stated.

If they continue to manage the affairs in the same way, the state television would have to be closed one day.

“PTV lost bid of PSL and for the first time in a decade failed to show Pakistan South Africa cricket Series,” the minister said.

He further said that that hundreds of PTV employees and their families have been suffering due to non-payment of pension commutation. “They have often registered their protest publicly, in addition to raising this matter in their meetings with me. However, PTV management has not taken steps to alleviate their misery,” the letter stated.

This is in complete contrast with the fact that the PTV MD and some members of the top management have been hired on hefty pay package which has produced a sense of resentment among the low paid employees and pensioners.

“I would take this opportunity to once again emphasize that PTV management must come up with a proper business plan including optimum utilization of its properties,” the letter concluded.
