TV anchor Iqrar ul Hassan gets trolled over ‘Fourth class’ tweet

The Sar-e-Aam host said, “I don’t claim to know more than him but I was in fourth class when I had read a 12 interpretation books and Sihah al-Sittah

Islamabad (Pakistan Point News – 4th February, 2019) Renowned tv anchor Iqrar ul Hassan Syed came under fire on Twitter for claiming to have all four books of Islamic jurisprudence while he was in class fourth.

The claim was made on a tweet by Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry over ending Hajj subsidy.

Iqrar ul Hassan supported the information minister’s stance and defended the government move. The anchor then went into an argument with a Twitter user who then asked Iqrar ul Hassan if he knows more than Religious Affairs Minister who had given a recommendation of giving 42000 subsidies.

The Sar-e-Aam host said, “I don’t claim to know more than him but I was in fourth class when I had read Sihah al-Sittah (The Authentic Six) and a dozen interpretation books, including Tanveer ul Maqbas, Tafseer e Takbeer, Tafseer e Dar Mansoor, Mafatih al Ghaib (Tafseer e Kabir), Rooh ul Bayan, Rooh ul Ma’ani and Tafseer Ibn-e-Kaseer.”

People were rather shocked at the intellect of the anchor as these books are quite difficult to comprehend and more so, so a grade four student.

The tweet went viral and Iqrar ul Hassan was trolled with چوتھی_جماعت# (fourth class) being the top trend on Twitter.

The episode took an ugly turn when the anchor could not stand the trolling and in fact, blamed the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) social media cell and Maryam Nawaz for this campaign.

He even shared a video of the screenshots of the tweets trolling him and those of Maryam Nawaz.
