MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 01st February, 2019) More than 60 percent of Russian citizens welcome the policies implemented by the country's president, Vladimir Putin, who also enjoys the strongest support at the moment among the Russian people compared to other prominent political figures, a poll, carried out by the Russian Public Opinion Research Center (VTsIOM), has revealed.According to the results of the poll, a total of 61 percent of those surveyed said that they approved of Putin's actions as the head of state, while just over 30 percent of the respondents said that they were not satisfied with the president's policies.
Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, on the contrary, was supported by just 33.8 percent of the Russian citizens, while over 50 percent said they disapproved of his actions as the head of the government.
The poll also revealed that Putin is currently the most trusted Russian politician, with a total of 32.2 percent of the respondents saying that they trust the president. The Russian leader is followed by Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu with 13.5 percent and Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov with 12 percent.
The poll was carried out between January 21-27 among 11,200 respondents aged 18 or older.
