Trade Between Russia's Far East, China Increased By 29% In 2018 - Customs Service

VLADIVOSTOK (Russia) (Pakistan Point news / Sputnik - 25th January, 2019) The trade between Russia's Far East and China increased by 29 percent in 2018, head of the Russian Far Eastern Customs Department Yuri Ladygin told reporters on Friday.

"The [Far East's] trade with China increased by almost 29 percent, with Japan by 22.2 percent, with South Korea by 4.6 percent [in 2018]," Ladygin said.

He pointed out that China was the region's most important trade partner in 2018 (44.7 percent of the total turnover), Japan came second with 29 percent of the region's trade with foreign states and South Korea came third with 4.6 percent of the Far East's trade with foreign countries.

Russia is actively cooperating with eastern Asian states - especially with China, Japan and South Korea - to attract investments needed for development of the Far East region.
