The petition has been filed against Zardari for allegedly concealing a flat in the United States along with the details of his assets.
Lahore (Pakistan Point News – 21st January, 2019) The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has moved the Supreme Court for disqualification of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari.
According to details, the disqualification petitions were filed by PTI leaders Usman Dar and Khurram Sher Zaman.
The petition has been filed against Zardari for allegedly concealing a flat in the United States along with the details of his assets.
The petition has requested to disqualify Zardari under Article 62-1 (f) of the constitution.
The petition stated that the PPP co-chairman owns properties worth billions abroad but he concealed his assets.
The details of Zardari’s apartments in Manhattan Upper East, New York worth $ 530,000 were also attached along with the petition.
The PTI had earlier withdrawn the disqualification reference against former president Asif Ali Zardari.
PTI leader Khurram Sher Zaman, who had filed a disqualification reference against Zardari for allegedly concealing a flat in the United States, said that he had found solid evidence against Zardari and he will only present it in the Supreme Court.
Zaman while speaking to the media had said, "I want to move the Supreme Court against the PPP president."
"We have come across evidence that we will only present before a top forum," the PTI leader stated.
The PTI had earlier filed a disqualification reference against Zardari in the Election Commission for allegedly concealing a flat in the United States.
The plea maintained that the former president was elected from NA-213 and the New York property was not mentioned in the asset details submitted to ECP.
