BELGRADE (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 17th January, 2019) Cooperation with Russian high-tech companies is vitally important for Serbia, Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic said Thursday at the opening of the first ever Serbian-Russian innovation and digital technology forum.On Thursday, Belgrade is hosting the "Digital Dialogue" forum, which coincides with Russian President Vladimir Putin's visit to Serbia. The opening ceremony was attended by Brnabich, Russian Special Presidential Representative on Digital and Technological Development Dmitry Peskov and Russian Ambassador to Serbia Alexander Chepurin.
"Cooperation between Russian and Serbian high-tech companies is of the utmost importance for our country. It is especially important that some of the most innovative Russian companies, such as Kaspersky Lab, Yandex�or Rosatom, have already been present in Serbia or have expressed interest in working here," Brnabic said.
A total of 25 companies from both countries are taking part in the forum. The event provides an opportunity for the companies to present their projects in various sectors including energy, agro- and biotechnologies, creative industry, Smart City technologies, medicine, and education. The main Russian participants are the Agency for Strategic Initiatives, developer of aerial imaging systems Geoscan, and IT giant Yandex.
On Saturday, Serbian Innovation and Technological Development Minister Nenad Popovic said that Serbia and Russia were expected to sign seven cooperation agreements in the fields of innovation, digitization and high technology during Putin's visit to Belgrade.
