The United States is calling on Moldova to ensure its parliamentary contests next month are free and fair, State Department Deputy Spokesperson Robert Palladino said in a press release on Wednesday
WASHINGTON (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 16th January, 2019) The United States is calling on Moldova to ensure its parliamentary contests next month are free and fair, State Department Deputy Spokesperson Robert Palladino said in a press release on Wednesday."The United States urges the Modovan authorities to take all necessary measures to ensure a free and fair electoral process and a transparent outcome that respects the will of Moldovan voters," Palladino said in the release.
Moldova should implement certain prior recommendations from the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe's Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR), Palladino said.
He added that media outlets should also provide equal access to all candidates and provide coverage that is fair, balanced and impartial.
The Moldovan parliamentary elections will be held on February 24.
