MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 16th January, 2019) German Chancellor Angela Merkel said Wednesday that she regretted the UK House of Commons rejecting the UK-EU Brexit deal and urged London to clarify its further steps.
The deal was turned down on Tuesday by 432 votes to 202.
"I deeply regret that the lower house of the UK Parliament rejected last night the agreement on the withdrawal. Now the UK side, Prime Minister [Theresa May] is to tell us how things will go further. We want to minimize the damage, which will occur in any case due to the exit of the United Kingdom, so, of course, we will try to continue striving for an orderly exit, but we are ready for having no orderly solution," Merkel said, adding that there was still time to negotiate.
