Justice Saeed said that Bahria Town should make separate offers over Karachi, Islamabad and Murree accordingly.

Lahore (Pakistan Point News – 15th January, 2018) The Supreme Court has rejected the offer of Bahria Town to pay Rs 200 billion.

A three-member Supreme Court bench headed by Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed held the hearing on Bahria Town case was held on Tuesday.

During the hearing, the SC rejected Bahria Town’s offer to pay Rs 200 billion.

Justice Saeed said that Bahria Town should make separate offers over Karachi, Islamabad and Murree accordingly.

Over this, the Bahria Town increased the offer by Rs 250 billion.

To this, the judge said this is not the right way, adding, “We should ask the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to file a reference against Bahria Town.”

The counsel for Bahria Town then requested the court to give him one week’s time.

The court accepted the request and gave him a time of one week.

The Supreme Court had earlier directed to unfreeze all accounts of Bahria Town and Malir Development Authority.

Earlier on May 4, the apex court had declared that the total area of land acquired by the Bahria Town in Takht Pari, Rawalpindi was 2,210 acres and not 1,741 acres as claimed.

In its May 4 judgement, the SC had ordered the forest department, revenue department and the Survey of Pakistan to conduct a fresh demarcation after giving notices to the forest department and Bahria Town.
