Fastjet Airline Cancels Flights To Zimbabwean Capital Over Clashes Near Airport

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 15th January, 2019) The Fastjet airline on Monday canceled flights to and from the Zimbabwean capital of Harare over clashes near the airport, the company said in a statement.

"Fastjet Zimbabwe advises that flights for the remainder of the day to and from Harare, Zimbabwe, will be cancelled due to the current unrest affecting travel on the streets of Harare, and in particular to and from Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport," the statement said.

The flights will be canceled at least until the end of Monday.

"The airline is making all efforts to contact affected customers. We will endeavor to minimize disruptions whilst still ensuring that the safety and security of our customers and staff remains a top priority," the statement added.

The unrest in Zimbabwe is caused by the significant rise of fuel prices.
