This online system will be prepared in the next few days.

Islamabad (Pakistan Point News – 14th January, 2019) The overseas Pakistanis can now register their mobile phones online instead of getting them registered at the airport.

According to Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), the overseas Pakistanis can get their mobile phones registered after getting home as the authority has decided to make an online registration system.

According to sources, the PTA’s system will be linked to a website. Following this step, the overseas Pakistanis will be able to get their mobile phones registered online.

This online system will be prepared in the next few days.

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government had given a policy for Overseas Pakistanis bringing mobile phones.

According to the policy, the Overseas Pakistanis are allowed to bring five mobile phones in a year. They would have to get them registered within 15 days.

The mobile phones can be registered on the spot at the airport while one mobile phone can be registered free of any duty or tax.

Joint counters by Customs, Federal board of Revenue (FBR) and PTA have also been established to facilitate the people in this regard.

Moreover, the traders who bring a bulk of phones can sell them after getting them registered. An action against the illegal phones will be taken only after January 31, the deadline for registering imported phones.
