WARSAW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 14th January, 2019) Pawel Adamowicz, the mayor of the Polish port city of Gdansk, has been stabbed on stage during a charity event and has been hospitalized in a very serious condition, local media reported on Sunday.
According to the Polish Onet news portal, the attacker shouted that he was unlawfully imprisoned under the government of Civic Platform political party to which the mayor formerly belonged. The assailant was detained at the scene. The attacker reportedly got to the stage using media license.�
Radio Gdansk reported that the mayor had received heart injuries and was in a very serious condition.
Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki and President Andrzej Duda condemned the attack.�
