Serbia, Russia to Sign 7 Innovation Agreements During Putin's Visit to Belgrade - Minister

Serbia and Russia are expected to sign seven agreements of cooperation in the field of innovation during Russian President Vladimir Putin's upcoming visit to Belgrade next week, Serbian Innovation and Technological Development Minister Nenad Popovic said on Saturday

BELGRADE (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 12th January, 2019) Serbia and Russia are expected to sign seven agreements of cooperation in the field of innovation during Russian President Vladimir Putin's upcoming visit to Belgrade next week, Serbian Innovation and Technological Development Minister Nenad Popovic said on Saturday.

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic announced at a press conference on December 21 that he was expecting Putin to visit Serbia on January 17. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told Sputnik earlier this month that the visit was being prepared.

"Seven agreements in the field of innovation and digitalization ... will be signed during the upcoming visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to Serbia," Popovic told Serbian national television.

The minister added that Belgrade was willing to cooperate with Moscow in the area of technology.

Russian Ambassador to Serbia Alexander Chepurin said at a meeting with Popovic on Thursday that the sides would also discuss bilateral cooperation in energy, agriculture and trade sectors during Putin's visit.
