MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 11th January, 2019) The United States has started pulling out its military ground equipment from Syria, the CNN broadcaster reported on Friday, citing a source in the US administration.
"Some cargo has already moved," the official told the broadcaster, adding that the process began just a few days ago.
Citing security concerns, the source, however, declined to disclose what cargo had been transferred and whether it had been transported by air or ground.
The region of the pullout similarly remains unknown, however the broadcaster noted that it was believed that the process should start in northern Syria.
In December, US President Donald Trump announced that his country would pull out its forces from Syria because the Islamic State terrorist group (banned in Russia) had been defeated. Washington, however, said that it would not publicly disclose a time line for withdrawing its troops, and pledged that the US-led international coalition's fight against terrorism would continue.
