Russia Registers 6 Ceasefire Violations in Syria Over Past 24 Hours - Defense Ministry

The Russian side of the Russian-Turkish commission monitoring the implementation of the Syrian ceasefire registered six truce breaches over the past 24 hours, while Turkey recorded eight violations, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Friday

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 04th January, 2019) The Russian side of the Russian-Turkish commission monitoring the implementation of the Syrian ceasefire registered six truce breaches over the past 24 hours, while Turkey recorded eight violations, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Friday.

"Over the last 24 hours, the Russian party of the Russia-Turkey Commission on violations of the Joint Agreement has registered 6 cases of firing in the provinces of Idlib (2), Latakia (2), and Hama (2). The Turkish side has registered 8 cases of ceasefire violations in the provinces of Idlib (4), Latakia (2), and Hama (2)," the ministry's Center for Syrian Reconciliation said in a daily bulletin.

The center conducted one humanitarian operation in Djallin settlement in Syria's Daraa province over the past 24 hours, according to the bulletin.

"People received 500 food sets with a total weight 2.165 tonnes. The total number of humanitarian actions - 2,030 with total weight of cargo - 3,193.063 tonnes," the bulletin read.

Russia, Turkey and Iran are the guarantors of the ceasefire in Syria, while Moscow has also been supporting the Syrian government forces in the fight against terrorist groups, and providing humanitarian aid to civilians.
