MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 02nd January, 2019) It is planned to adopt enhanced security measures in Russia's Krasnoyarsk Territory during the preparation for and the holding of the 29th Winter Universiade that will take place in March, a project of the relevant decree was released on the Russian Federal portal of draft legislation."To introduce on the territory of the Krasnoyarsk Territory enhanced security measures from February 21 to March 14, 2019," the draft decree said.
The draft decree also provides for the establishment of an inter-agency situation room to ensure security during the Universiade, which is expected to begin its work on February 1.
The draft law also stipulates that all gatherings, rallies, manifestations and demonstrations not relating to the Universiade and scheduled for the period of the sports event should be postponed.
In addition, a ban on selling weapons, ammunition, explosives and industrial explosives will be introduced during the Universiade, while the work of hazardous industries using explosive, radioactive, chemical and biological materials will be partially suspended.
The 29th Winter Universiade will be held on March 2-12, during which athletes will compete for 76 awards in 11 sports.
