Total of 16 Bodies Recovered From Collapsed Building in Russia's Magnitogorsk - Ministry

Two more bodies have been recovered from the debris of a residential building that collapsed in the Russian city of Magnitogorsk in the southern Urals on Monday, thus bringing the death toll up to 16, the press service for the Russian Emergencies Ministry told Sputnik on Wednesday

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 02nd January, 2019) Two more bodies have been recovered from the debris of a residential building that collapsed in the Russian city of Magnitogorsk in the southern Urals on Monday, thus bringing the death toll up to 16, the press service for the Russian Emergencies Ministry told Sputnik on Wednesday.

"The 15th and the 16th bodies have been recovered," the ministry said, specifying that both newly recovered victims were women.

Earlier in the day, the ministry said that 14 bodies had been recovered.

On Monday, a natural gas blast hit one of the blocks of a 10-storey residential building in Magnitogorsk, destroying and damaging scores of apartments. The fate of dozens of people remains unknown. Rescue works continue, while they are hindered by the risk of debris collapsing.
