Militants Shelled Settlements In Syria's Idlib De-Escalation Zone - Russian Center

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 02nd January, 2019) Militants shelled settlements in the Syrian provinces of Aleppo, Hama and Latakia over the past 24 hours, the Russian Defense Ministry's Center for Syrian Reconciliation said on Tuesday.

"Despite the ceasefire regime being established throughout the country, there are still cases of ceasefire regime violation by illegal armed formations. Over the past day, terrorists have attacked Mamuhiyah in Latakia province, Mahardeh (two times), Sheikh Barakeh (two times), Tell al-Maqtaa, Zalaqiyat and Hammamiyat� in Hama province as well as districts of Soukkari and northwestern outskirts of Aleppo," the center said in a daily bulletin.

As of Monday, a total of 213,808 Syrian refugees had returned to their homes, according to the center's figures.

Apart from being one of the guarantors of the ceasefire in Syria, Moscow has been also assisting Damascus in the reconstruction process and the repatriation of refugees, with Russian military carrying out regular humanitarian actions across the country.
