MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 01st January, 2019) The Syrian army killed a number of terrorists from the Turkistan Islamic Party (outlawed in Russia) in the northern part of the province of Hama, local media reported on Tuesday.According to Syrian state television, the Syrian army struck fortified positions of terror groups in response to violations of ceasefire in the Idlib de-escalation zone.
The Syrian army's strikes have also reportedly destroyed terrorists' weapons and ammunition.
Syria has been engulfed in an armed conflict since 2011, with the government forces fighting numerous terrorist organizations and armed opposition groups. The ceasefire agreement on the Idlib de-escalation zone was reached between Russia and Turkey on September 17.
