Over 1,200 Syrians Return Home From Abroad Over Past 24 Hours - Refugee Center

More than 1,200 Syrian refugees have returned to their home country from Jordan and Lebanon over the past 24 hours, the Russian Defense Ministry's Center for the Reception, Allocation and Accommodation of Refugees said on Monday

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 31st December, 2018) More than 1,200 Syrian refugees have returned to their home country from Jordan and Lebanon over the past 24 hours, the Russian Defense Ministry's Center for the Reception, Allocation and Accommodation of Refugees said on Monday.

"Over the past day, a total of 1,294 people returned to the Syrian Arab Republic from the territory of foreign states: 398 people (120 women and 203 children) left Lebanon for Syria via the Jaydet-Yabus and Talkalakh CPs [checkpoints], and 896 people (269 women and 457 children) from Jordan via the Nasib CP," the center said in its daily bulletin.

The center added that 446 internally displaced Syrians returned to their homes over the period.

Syrian engineering units have cleared mines on 10.7 hectares (25.3 acres) of land, defusing 27 explosive devices.

The Chechen Republic's Akhmad Kadyrov Foundation carried out one humanitarian operation in the Idlib province, where civilians received one tonne of bread and 100 blankets.

The Syrian government has already launched the post-war reconstruction process and started welcoming back tens of thousands of Syrians who were forced to seek asylum in other countries. Over 83,000 refugees have returned to Syria from abroad since July 18, according to the refugee center's data.
