‘Mr Interior Minister, go tell your leaders country will be run constitutionally’: CJP

The CJP expressed his anger at the federal government for putting names of 172 people involved in fake bank accounts in the ECL

Islamabad (Pakistan Point News – 31st December, 2018) A hearing on fake bank accounts case is being held in the Supreme Court on Monday.

A two member Supreme Court bench headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar is hearing the case.

Joint Investigation Team (JIT) head Ehsan Saqib among other members are present in the Supreme Court while Sindh Advocate General Salman Abu Talib, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Raja Parvez Ashraf, Latif Khosa, Farooq H Naik, Farhatullah Babar and others are also present in the court.

The CJP expressed his anger at the Federal government for putting Names of 172 people involved in fake bank accounts in the Exit Control List (ECL) and ordered Minister of State for Interior Shehryar Afridi to submit a reply.

When Minister of State for Interior Shehryar Afridi appeared before the court, the CJP warned all those taking unconstitutional measures.

Mr Interior Minister, go and tell your elders that the country will be run according to constitution. We didn’t let democracy to derail when there were threats.

The CJP further said that the cabinet members talk about imposing Governor Raj on tv shows. Go and review the placement of names in the Exit Control List (ECL).

The CJP remarked that the court had not yet accepted the JIT report while cabinet and lawyers are discussing it.

How are they related to this matter? We can’t let the government to be dissolved upon this report.

He said that the ministers speak about their performance on TV shows.

All the politicians should hear that we have sent laws to the Assembly.

He said that the JIT report is not too sacred as to accept it as it is. If Governor Raj is imposed, we will dismiss it in a minute.
