MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 26th December, 2018) Moscow calls on Kiev's western patrons not to participate in a possible new provocation in the Kerch Strait, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said Wednesday.
"We expect the western patrons of Ukraine to not only refrain from participating in this absolutely insane initiative, but to also find ways to bring to reason the ruling regime in Kiev and force it not to take hasty steps that could lead to another stage of escalation in the region," Zakharova said at a briefing.
Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council Secretary Oleksandr Turchynov earlier said Kiev planned to carry out a new passage of Ukrainian ships through the Kerch Strait.
