"The government of Germany took note of the decision of the United States on which it had not been previously informed. As an ally and member of the antiterrorist coalition, we would consider it complementary to hold preliminary consultations with the US leadership on the issue of withdrawing US troops," Germany's deputy government spokeswoman Ulrike Demmer said.
