MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 21st December, 2018) Russia's State Space Corporation Roscosmos confirmed in a statement on Friday that two Russian and 26 foreign satellites were ready to be sent into space on the Soyuz-2.1a carrier rocket from the Vostochny Cosmodrome on December 27.

A space industry source told Sputnik on Wednesday that about 30 satellites from Russia, the United States, Germany, Japan, Spain and South Africa would be launched from the spaceport on December 27.

"On December 20, the assembly of a nose cone of the Soyuz-2.1a carrier rocket with the Russian Kanopus-V satellites No. 5 and No. 6 was completed at the Vostochny cosmodrome ... A total of ... 26 satellites from Japan, the United States, Germany, Spain and South Africa will be launched [on the carrier rocket]," the statement read.

Another source told Sputnik earlier this week that one Finnish and three Israeli satellites were not ready for the launch and had been replaced by detachable dummy satellites.
