Russia Registers 13 Ceasefire Violations in Syria Over Past 24 Hours - Defense Ministry

The Russian side of the Russian-Turkish commission monitoring the implementation of the Syrian ceasefire has registered 13 truce breaches over the past 24 hours, while the Turkish side has recorded six ceasefire violations, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Tuesday

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 18th December, 2018) The Russian side of the Russian-Turkish commission monitoring the implementation of the Syrian ceasefire has registered 13 truce breaches over the past 24 hours, while the Turkish side has recorded six ceasefire violations, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Tuesday.

"[Over the last 24 hours] the Russian party of the Russia-Turkey Commission on violations of the Joint Agreement has registered 13 cases of firing in the provinces of Idlib (3), Hama (4), Latakia (5) and Aleppo (1). The Turkish side has registered six cases of ceasefire violations in the provinces of Hama (2), Aleppo (2) and Idlib (2)," the ministry's center for Syrian reconciliation said in its daily bulletin.

The reconciliation center has held no humanitarian actions within last 24 hours, according to the Russian Defense Ministry.

The ministry added that no new ceasefire agreements had been signed within last 24 hours. Thus, the number of settlements that have joined the ceasefire regime remained unchanged, amounting to 2,518. The number of armed formations claiming to observe the ceasefire regime is 234.

Russia, along with Turkey and Iran, is the guarantor of the ceasefire in Syria. Moscow is also supporting the government forces' fight against terrorist groups and providing humanitarian aid to civilians.
