Peskov Declines to Comment on New Report About Russia's Alleged 2016 US Election Meddling

The Kremlin does not have enough details to comment on a new report that was allegedly prepared by private analysis firms to give the US Senate a broader insight into Russia's suspected 2016 US election tampering, spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Monday.

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 17th December, 2018) The Kremlin does not have enough details to comment on a new report that was allegedly prepared by private analysis firms to give the US Senate a broader insight into Russia's suspected 2016 US election tampering, spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Monday.

"I cannot comment on it because I have not seen the document you are referring to. I do not know what messages by the internet Research Agency [IRA] they were talking about. I am not in a position to comment on this without sufficient information," Dmitry Peskov told reporters.

A draft of the report was obtained by The Washington Post newspaper, which leaked details on Sunday. The analysis by Oxford University's Computational Propaganda Project and Graphika, a social media intelligence firm, looked into millions of online posts by IRA, who was charged in the United States for allegedly trying to tilt the 2016 campaign in Donald Trump's favor.
