The UK House of Commons said earlier in the day that the 15-percent threshold necessary for the no confidence ballot had been exceeded. The voting will take place later on Wednesday between 18:00 and 20:00 GMT.
"I am backing [Theresa May] tonight. Being PM most difficult job imaginable right now and the last thing the country needs is a damaging and long leadership contest. Brexit was never going to be easy but she is the best person to make sure we actually leave the EU on March 29," Hunt tweeted.
