BRUSSELS (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 12th December, 2018) The session of the European Parliament in Strasbourg will continue, despite the shooting incident in the city, the parliament's speaker Antonio Tajani said on Tuesday.
According to latest reports, four people were killed as a result of shooting on Tuesday evening in Strasbourg. The shooter is still at large. From Monday to Thursday, the city hosts an on-site session of the European Parliament.
"I express my condolences for the victims of the Strasbourg attack. The European Parliament does not let itself be intimidated by terrorist or criminal attacks. Moving on! We continue to work and react with the force of democracy and freedom to the violence of terror," Tajani said on Twitter.
According to the live broadcast, the work in the parliament's conference hall is proceeding in normal mode.
Earlier, it was reported that the European Parliament's building was closed due to the shooting incident, and the lawmakers were instructed to stay inside for security purposes.
